MATH WIZ QUALIFIES TO REG'L MTAP CHALLENGE
    Leo Mikhael Bernaldez of Bicol Regional Science High School (BRSHS) will represent the
Division of Ligao City to the MTAP regional individual finals on February 19, 2016 at RELC,
Legazpi City after reaching the hurdle score of 38 during the conduct of the Division Level
MTAP-Deped Math Challenge last February 5, 2016 at the Schools Division Office function
hall.
    The division level competition was preceded by MTAP-DepEd cluster level elimination
held last January 15, 2016 which were represented by 12 grade 7, 14 grade 8, 12 grade 9
and 12 grade 10contenders who became qualified to join the division team finals.
During the division team finals, BRSHS bagged the first place in grades 7, 9 and 10 while
LigaoNational High School (LNHS) got the first place in grade 8.
    Unfortunately, no one from the grade ten teams got the hurdle score of 38 which would
have made them qualify to the regional team orals. On the other hand, Bernaldez made it to
the individual category. He will be accompanied by his coach, Dianne R. Requiza during the
regional level of the said competition.
    The over-all results put BRSHS in the top rank while LNHS was in the second position
and Amtic National High School (ANHS) was the third placer.
    Winners in the said competition were awarded with certificates of recognition and medals.
    The participating schools were BRSHS, LNHS, ANHS, Bacong National High School,
Cabarian National High School, Oma-Oma National High School and St. Mary's Academy of
Ligao.
    The elimination round and division team finals were facilitated by select teachers from
the different secondary schools under the supervision of Mrs. Edna Gregorio, Education
